Jack Holmberg resigns from the NPMC board of directors
In June of 2023, Mr. Holmberg joined NPMC’s efforts to enhance both the DoD and commercial industry’s environment and innovations in the field as a member of the board.
Jack’s experience included 20+ years working for Varec and supporting the DLA Energy Fuels Automated System (FAS), Business Systems Modernization Energy (BSME), and Base Level Support Application (BLSA) programs. After retiring Jack did some part-time consulting as a Senior Logistics/Fuels Analyst for multiple companies working Logistic/Fuels Government contracts as well as competing for new ones.
Throughout his career, he served over 40 years in the government and commercial industry. Mr. Holmberg assisted the industry in its resilience to meet the DoD worldwide fuels requirements and mission. He was instrumental in playing a vital role in the initiative and effort for fuels automation within the Military Services.
We are so very thankful for Jack’s contributions over the past three years. In his letter of resignation, he expressed feeling “privileged to serve for this period of time, since Ruth asked me to be on the board of NPMC, but it is time to pass the torch to someone who can energetically participate in supporting our fuel handlers in the future. I remember the days when the original group met in the hotel and we all were planning for the birth of this organization; they were exciting times. Jack and I were working at Air Staff, and he sat behind me and many hours of time was taken working items to improve the jobs for the fuels handlers in the AF. Air Cards was a big subject at the time. In forming this association that was the initial point of concern, helping the fuel handler. I believe that with the professional group that are assembled, your overall efforts will be successful and that the commercial and military energy efforts will be improved.”
We wish Jack all the best as he moves into a well deserved full retirement!
